An opportunity to join Helen Edgar (Autistic Realms) for a small group family workshop exploring neurodiversity-affirming ideas to support your family and young autistic person, specifically focused for children 2-10 years.

Neurodiversity Affirming Family Workshop
90 Minutes Every Momday 7-8.30 PM
Small Group & Safe Space - no more than 4 families per session
Opportunity to discuss the specific needs of your autistic young person with other families that may have shared experiences.
Gain practical ideas to support your young person wherever you are in your autism journey.

Helen's Background:
Late-identified autistic and multiply neurodivergent
Qualified SEN teacher (20 Years experience, Early Years and Primary settings, including specialising in supporting those with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD))
Parent to two neurodivergent children
Currently working in collaboration with Thriving Autistic, The PDA Space, GROVE Neurodivergent Mentoring & Education

Special Interests
*Developing a positive neuro-affirming autistic identity

*Supporting families navigating barriers to education and school attendance difficulties
*Developing an understanding of autistic burnout, preventing burnout and supporting ways forward towards healing
*Practical ideas for family life, including; adopting a low-demand approach, incorporating sensory activities to help regulation

*Supporting those with intellectual and learning disabilities
*Supporting those who are non-speaking/minimally speaking and those who may use or want to explore Alternative and Augmentative Communication methods.

From September 2024, I will be offering training for schools and organisations to explore neurodiversity-affirming ways of supporting children and young people in education. 

These training sessions will be aimed at primary/secondary and SEN settings in the UK and can be tailored to meet your individual needs. 


Lectures/seminars and workshops will also be available for organisations/teacher training/education/ health and social care course providers.
