A low-arousal approach for parents: regulate yourself first, ask what really matters, and put your child's emotional needs first.

Description

I made this graphic about a low arousal approach for parents, in a set of colourful speech bubbles. It suggests checking in with your own feelings and taking a few moments to regulate yourself, and thinking about whether it really matters in the moment and what your end goal is. It reminds you that most parental stress comes from perceived "shoulds", that this is not giving in but putting your child's emotional needs first, and that there is always Plan B. It could sit on a family fridge or be shared with parent groups and support teams.
