Description
A neurodiversity-affirming poem inspired by Allan Ahlberg's 'Please Mrs Butler', which I rewrote. A child tells their teacher the classroom is like a zoo, the lights are too bright and their hands and legs are wriggling, and each time the teacher answers with support: the sensory basket, headphones, a dimmer switch, the cosy den, and moving around outside to climb. It ends with 'So, DO keep asking me!' Each verse has a simple icon beside it, and the poem is a friendly way to open conversations about sensory needs in a classroom or at home.
