Description
Mad and Mad Pride is one of the 222 words in the Neuro-Affirming Glossary of Key Words and Terms (2026 Edition). This card has the word, its short definition and its symbol, as a 1080 × 1080 PNG for screens, slides, handouts or social media. The card reads:
“Mad is a word reclaimed by people who have been through psychiatric systems, written with a capital M as a political identity, as some Disabled people write Disabled. Mad Pride celebrates Mad culture and resists stigma and coercion. The first event was Psychiatric Survivor Pride Day in Toronto in 1993; UK Mad Pride was founded in 1999 by Mark Roberts, Simon Barnett, Robert Dellar and Pete Shaughnessy.”
Pay what you like for a single card, from £1 (suggested £2). If you would like every card, the Neuro-Affirming Glossary 2026 Bundle includes the e-book and the complete 222-card deck, with print files and A4 posters. All 222 words are also free to read on the Glossary page.
